RECAP:
Remember that Ralph Macchio made-for-TV movie The Three Wishes of Billy Grier? Well, this episode was basically the same thing, only the kid aging rapidly only has one wish: to see a freakin' windmill. Is that too much to ask? Clark and Lana find a baby in a huge crater; it was born of a mom who was part Glo-Worm and who exploded (along with her vehicle) at the time of the birth while the freaked-out dad ran away. The baby -- taken in by the Kents, natch -- begins to grow rapidly, going from infant to boy to teen in the space of a day. Clark tries to get help from Lex, who says the kid needs a bone-marrow transplant from his dad. Good luck with that. The dad, of course, wants nothing to do with a baby that was conceived and born in a week. Sadly, RapidBaby accidentally kills his father when the dad tries to push him away and lands on a sharp object. Oops! With the bone-marrow donor dead, all they can do is wait for the kid to die in a spectacular self-created bodily explosion. The kid gets his wish to go on a windmill, and dies there in Clark's arms. And Clark learns what it is to be a big, bellowing, platitude-spouting papa. Call me a sap, but I'm a sucker for that sentimental crap. Unfortunately, it was also as depressing as all get out. After the kid dies in an explosion that turns Clark into a comical cartoon character who was standing too close to Wile E. Coyote, Lex says he's going to use the research on the boy to advance cancer and aging research. But when Clark leaves, he goes slightly evil and says he'll release that info "eventually." Bwahahahaha...evil scientist with proprietary research! Meanwhile, Papa Luthor reclaims his Throne of Magnificent Bastard by poisoning Jane Seymour when she threatens to go after Lex for the missing Gay Stone of Knowledge. Don't be messing with the Luthors. They come to play. (Incidentally, she survives, but not before begging on her knees for the antidote as she's choking to death.) Bit dark this week, wouldn't you say? (TWoP)
Well, there's nothing like an abandoned baby to help Lana and Clark get right with their own banged-up inner children, huh? There's also nothing like an abandoned baby who ages faster than those soap-opera kids who head off to boarding school only to come back six months later as 25-year-olds with chiseled jaws and perfect skin. Sort of like Jensen Ackles when he was on Days of our Lives. Unfortunately, by going from an infant to a tweener to a teen in record time, this little rascal skipped the fun parts of growing up — like reading DC Comics, which might have been handier for him than tearing through the encyclopedia — and went straight to accidentally offing his no-good father. Hey, it happens, right? Speaking of bad dads, what is going on with Lionel? The big scary hair hints at a return to the dark side, but I'm not sure who he's screwing with worse, Lex or Genevieve. Probably the latter, since he poisoned that beyotch for threatening his boy. Either way, the closer we get to the end of this whole element-stone story line, the more it looks like one of the grown-ups will be DOA by the finale. Let's hope that whoever it is gets to blow up like mutant-spawn Evan. I mean, not only did his death push the grieving pseudo-parents Clark and Lana into each other's arms, his crazy DNA also gave Lex a leg up on farm boy's secret. Plus, it was also cool. Some might even say supercool. God, I really am a geeky fanboy. (TV Guide)

    Spoilers:
There's a young man named Evan that we meet at the ages of 7 and 15. Evan is actually only a day old, though he ages at a rapid rate. His mother died at child birth. So, we see him first at age 7, and then a little bit later at age 15. Which, in WB casting terms, would make the actor 25. An early scene of "Evan at 7" has him visiting the Kent Farm and playing with Shelby. Lana is there at the scene too, and when he asks about his parents, she tells him "Sure. Everyone has a mother and a father." Well, unless they were smooshed by a meteor, but that doesn't come up in the conversation. While Lana and Evan are talking, Clark and Martha are discussing the situation. Once Clark comes back, Evan tells him that "girls are weird." "We are not," Lana says, to which Clark returns "A little bit." Their banter seems a little flirtatious and angst-free. The exchange ends with Lana blushing. "You're both weird," Evan tells them after that happens. Lana and Clark take Evan to Luthorcorp to be looked at.

When Lana comes home to the Talon, there is someone waiting inside in the dark - Lionel. "You're a very strong-willed girl," he tells her. "In some circles that quality would be revered. In others, it's considered an annoyance." Lionel shows her a surveillance photo that Genevieve gave him. "There are forces that would prefer to see you eliminated from the game, particularly after the events in China. But not to worry. I'm going to protect you," Lionel tells her. When asked why, Lionel tells her "Your theatrics over the missing element retrieved from China may have fooled my son and your mysteriously absent ex-paramour Mr. Teague. Fortunately I'm considerably more versed in the art of deception." KryptonSite
